Meanwhile, among women 35 to 55 years old, between one-third and two-thirds will be impoverished by age 70 due to inadequate retirement savings, according to research by the National Endowment for Financial Education and the AARP. Given the rise in longevity in the U.S., that could be a long stretch in the poor house.

If you aren’t putting money aside now, ladies, this would be a good time to start.
